Uraninite with Carnotite from Utah
I tentatively call this yellow Uranium secondary mineral carnotite. It is very good crystallization on the cooked out carbon material that I harvested from a recent mining expedition in Utah. This came from a Green River area deposit and although the reading is relatively modest at 12,500 cpm on Radiacode 103, the material that is was in reached levels well above 100 kcpm. There is some very beautiful black and shiny Uraninite crystallization that is best appreciated under magnification. The yellow secondary does not fluoresce but is more beautiful than the carnotite I am used to seeing so I only use Carnotite as a guess based of the traits I am seeing. Very reasonably priced.
