(Did I get your attention?) Well hello rock world! We have been thrilled at the website traffic from around the world and want to encourage everyone to leave a post here in the blog section. Share a hot rock, let us know what you are missing from your collection, or just say hello to anyone passing through the website. We will not moderate posts unless they are hurtful towards others so let the friendships spring up and make some new penpal friends from around the world. I hope everyone has been enjoying the website. we are trying to get a search bar function now that our stock has grown and sadly it looks like categories are beyond the capabilities of this website platform. We are still learning and growing so please bare with us as we make this site the new hang out for rock hounds and nuclear minded folks from all over. Rock on my friends!
Dear Brandon and family,
Thank you very much for the message.
There are very interesting minerals on the page but we must always remember to handle them with care and responsibility (due to their radioactive nature) since these are not simple toys. Now I share with you the photo of a radioactive mineral called "Moctezumite" from the state of Sonora in Mexico. This mineral is a Uranyl - Tellurite with high activity (70 Bq/g) and is bright orange in color. It is good to know that there is a possibility that you can get some type of mineral, in Mexico the uranium mines are located in the northern area (Durango, Chihuahua, Sonora, etc.) generally with Carnotites, Uranophane and Tyuyamunite.
Nice photograph with the family, greetings to all !!!!!.
I hope in the future to be able to share comments on minerals and related topics.
Sincerely,
Alberto.
Hello,.. I am Alberto from Mexico,.. I am a Physicist and I have a small collection of radioactive minerals (Monazite, Uranophane, Torbetite, Carnotite, Tyuyamunite, etc.) and I recently purchased uraninite from Pribram from Radioactiverock.com,.. I am really like the piece and I hope they can publish (on Amazon Mexico) a mineral from Musonoi-Mine since I don't have any that are from the African continent. I hope to share some photos of the minerals in the future and greetings to all !!!!!!.
